Founded in 1997, DrayTek Corporation (Chinese: 居易科技) is a Taiwan-based manufacturer of networking equipment and management systems. From ISDN, VDSL to LTE, DrayTek has always been striving to provide SMBs and professional with reliable, fast and secure connections. Major Milestones

  • 1997
    DrayTek is founded by Calvin Ma and a group of engineers. The Chinese name, 居易 (Ju-Yi), comes from the Confucianism classic Doctrine of the Mean, means staying peaceful at where you are, doing things properly, and wait for the opportunities come.
  • 1998
    First release of ISDN Vigor128. It was the world's first USB ISDN Terminal Adapter that works with Windows98 and MacOS. The product was recommended by Apple for its full compatibility with iMac and also authorized to use the same enclosure design as Bondi blue iMac.
  • 1999
    Releases miniVigor128. Release the first router product, Vigor2000 ISDN Router.
  • 2001
    Releases the first broadband VPN router, Vigor2200 Series, and DrayTek becomes the first manufacturer who brings VPN technology, that used to be found only in enterprise-level products, into SMB routers. Release the first ADSL Router, Vigor2600.
  • 2003
    Adds Denial of Service (DoS) Protection and Quality of Service (QoS) into Vigor Routers and releases the first VoIP product, Vigor2600V Series.
  • 2004
    Releases the first Multi-WAN Load Balancing VPN router, Vigor3300 Series. DrayOS is IPv6 Ready Logo Program approved. Goes IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Releases Vigor Access IP DSLAM.
  • 2006
    Releases the first ADSL2/ADSL2+ Routers, Vigor2800V Series for SMBs and Vigor2700 Series for residential.
  • 2007
    Releases UTM products, VigorPro5500. Releases Vigor2910 Series which supports 3.5G USB Backup. Adds Content Security Management Feature to Vigor Routers.
  • 2009
    Release the first IP-PBX Router, VigorIPPBX 2820. It's an IP-PBX integrated with a fully-featured ADSL router, providing the SMBs a cost-saving solution for company-wide telephony.
  • 2011
    Releases VigorAP 800, adds wireless access points to the product portfolio. Introduces the centralized management software, VigorASC SI, adds TR-069 protocols and the centralized management capability to DrayTek products.
  • 2012
    Releases the first VDSL2 Router, Vigor2860 Series for SMBs and Vigor2760 Series for residential.
  • 2015
    High-Availability was added into DrayOS. Releases the first router with built-in LTE connectivity, Vigor2925 LTE Series and Vigor2860 LTE Series with a VDSL2 WAN.
  • 2017
    DrayTek celebrates the 20 year anniversary and the headquarter building expansion. Launches the DrayDDNS service. Expanding the R&D to cover layer 2 networking, releases the first managed-switch running DrayTek-developed software, VigorSwitch P1280/G1280.
  • 2018
    Releases the first outdoor wireless access point, VigorAP 920R Series.
  • 2020
    Releases the first Tri-Band wireless access point, VigorAP 1000C.
    Releases the first WiFi6 AX1800 wireless access point, VigorAP 960C.
  • 2021
    Releases ACS3 Management software and the first DrayOS 5 Model, Vigor167 . DrayOS 5 is the Next-Gen of DrayTek's in-house operating system.
  • 2022
    Release the first WiFi6 AX3000 wireless access point, VigorAP 906.
  • 2024
    Relase powerful Enterprise-Level Router, Vigor3912S, featuring a Quad-Core CPU, 8 WAN Interfaces, and support with Linux applications.
